Didn't know there was a groupon...but went anyway. They are AWESOME.
Yes
The meat is melt in your mouth good
Great selection of bar b q and sides, nice atmosphere, friendly staff
Pretty good barbecue. Love the playground for the kids with tables for the parents.
I’ve been hearing about this place for awhile and so we decided to drive out a good 30 min to get the BEST BBQ money can buy in Texas!!!. Loved the rustic experience!! and the big gentlemen serving us with the A&M hat was so nice and recommended the best BBQ I’ve had in awhile with great hospitality. Me and my wife got the “Hungry Texan” and it came with a wide variety of bbq and the sides were amazing. Would recommend to anybody, true Texas experience overall!!!
The kitchen looks so dirty. I've been several times over the years and the quality has gone down with each visit. I would not recommend. There are about 100 better BBQ places around San Antonio.
Great food! Casual atmosphere. Some nights they have live bands and during the summer they have concert events. They also do catering and you can rent out the hall there as well for any events. Price is reasonable.
Used to come out here years ago when I lived in SA, last in 2009. Really happy to see that it's still in operation; even more happy to have brought my family here to enjoy as well. Prices are a bit on the high side; however, competitive with Rudys & Spring Creek BBQ in my opinion. The down home atmosphere, kindness, and generosity from the staff has never changed. A bit dead however, most likely due to COVID, we were really happy to support this local business and their employees. Only real complaint were the sides; a bit bland. We'd gotten the green beans, mashed potatoes, and some kind of mac & cheese dish. Beans tasted like they were from the can, potatoes were bit dry and didn't include a gravy, and the M&C also a bit dry. All and all, definitely a great place to come to while in SA.
This place has gone downhill. The used to have excellent barbecue and good prices. Now the turkeys dry the brisquit is full of Greece and the prices are 3 times as much as they used to be. The service was terrible the teenage kid behind the counter were more worried about their phones than anything.
It took them almost 30 minutes for 3 kids meals. On top of that I had to go check on the order and they didn't even put the order in the first time. We finally recieved the order and they still gave us a wrong kids meal. So one child had to wait while the rest of family was eating. Thanks Texas Pride for the Great Service! We will not be returning... Two stars because the brisket was pretty good.Update: First I would like to say thank you for the reply and I have changed my review to four stars for the honest feedback.
Love the food, the atmosphere and live music.. family oriented..
I've been going to this place for over 20 years. GREAT BBQ!
Wow! On my way home to Victoria from SA, I stopped by for some brisket today, it was fantastic!! I didn't even need the sauce. The brisket was super tender and flavorful. I will definitely be back and will bring the family. Staff was courteous and friendly.
I ordered the lean brisket and pulled pork. The flavor is basic. The mac & cheese is a lacking flavor and soul. The potato salad was ok and the peach cobbler was so so. Very overpriced. The place is pretty cool though.
Came here with a co-worker 2 weeks ago, he treated and the brisket/ribs good. Had peach homemade cobbler. good. Had to bring the wife (she luv's brisket)So below is what we both order (XL the works, Big Red and L tea, $31 bucks)the brisket was BBQ Brisket (we didnt order bbq, but got it). There wasnt enough Brisket layered all out, most (not much) was towards one end/side. Chips good, beans good. they use chedder cheese (we was thinking it was gonna be smooth melted cheese). They put layers on top and oven roast it to melt the chedder cheese.Wife wasnt impressed and me was disappointed. Lucky they had ribs/brisket (non bbq). If you order nachos and not into bbw, make sure they know that, even if you dont ask.
Brisket, jalapeno cheese sausage were amazing. And the Pecan Cobbler...so good!
Ribs and pulled pork for our Super Bowl gathering. A GREAT MEAL for our last family get together in SA before moving with our favorite SA BBQ!
Go for the fun on the weekends (Sunday karaoke!) and the atmosphere! Featured in Diners Drive ins and Dives. It's a good place, tons of antiques abound. Food is OK
I love this place great food, little pricey but worth it
I went here for a coworker's going away party. .I was excited to try a new spot for barbecue in Texas. This was by far the worst barbecue I've had in Texas my coworker who even suggested the place where everyone was disappointed at the way the food was that day. Maybe it was just a bad day and I'll have to return and try it another time. Without the big crowd maybe But the food was barely worthy of any pictures I had ordered turkey and pinto beans and it had flavor but was room temp and my friends sides were blah mac and cheese and potatoes were cold and bland nothing special. Even after adding salt and pepper and everything needed bbq sauce for some more flavor.we all ended up trashing the food. We couldn't even Finish it
Good food, great atmosphere.
They serve some of the best BBQ!!! From their brisket to the ribs & their peach cobbler...nothing but yumminess!!! The place is cute with many antiques to appreciate and different spaces to enjoy...the kids loved the play area!
Heavenly as always! In town from NY and this is my one spot I have to hit when here!! Thanks for the delicious food! Brisket melted in our mouthes!!
Wow! Although it was 100 degrees outside, this unique BBQ restaurant offered up cool air and excellent Texas-style BBQ. We had sliced brisket sandwiches, fried pickles and chips/queso. We also ordered a "large" stuffed baked potato. Oh my! It was Texas large. We didn't read the description and they served up a heaping scoop of chopped BBQ right in the middle of that yacht! Their sodas are bottled and their regular and sweet tea is served up fresh. In all honesty, I have no idea where this place is located but was well worth the trip! Come exceedingly hungry.
Brisket was delicious. Green beans and Cole slaw were just ok. Employees were very nice. A little over priced.
My daughter recommended this place and I stopped to have dinner with her one afternoon. I got the brisket and asked for it to be trimmed extra lean. I ended up only being able to eat half of my meat because it still was riddled with fat and gristle. The sides I got were potato salad and creamed corn and both were very tasty. I tasted my daughter's sides of beans but I didn't care for her macaroni and cheese. I don't believe I will be going back but may give it one more try.
Just ate there today and let me tell you that food was delicious. I highly recommend this place 100% . Then peach cobbler is the best I’ve ever had . Thank y’all very much
Food was delicious and servers were friendly
Great Place to Hangout & Chillax w Friends. The Beer is Always Cold!!!
Great food at good prices friendly staff
The food was okay. It's usually really good, but it could've been that we got there late. What I didn't like was that hardly anyone had face masks on. Not even the workers had masks on. For that unfortunately I have to give it 3 stars.
Always love coming back. The brisket is on point, juicy and seasoned great. Tried the ribs this trip and not disappointed. See you next time!
I love this place. A little pricey but normal for BBQ. I love the pulled pork sandwich special.it comes with a sandwich a side and a drink for 9.99 plus tax of course. Ordering is similar to a cafeteria and the employees are really friendly and make you feel like you've known them forever. Definitely worth the drive if you're not from around there.
Great local Texas bbq. Staff has always been nice when I have visited. I personally enjoy the chopped brisket sandwich and add coleslaw on the sandwich. The brisket and sausage are also very good. I have not had the pulled pork. Definitely worth a stop if you are in the area looking for a meal.
The meat was delish... the only drawback was that they don't have any healthy sides. It's just neat and carbs! That's okay though because we went prepared...we took an avocado with us! 😊
Great food and music
Great and delicious Bar B Que! Definitely a need to try restaurant!!! Its jus so damn good!!
Pickers would love it had so many antiques to look at. Very large. I thought the barbecue is a little expensive for what you got I'm not quite as good as I thought it would be. But yet it was a great place very large a lot to look at good music.
Great place to bring to whole family. We always enjoy the live music.
Dry Turkey, cold meat, brisket was very greasy and teenage staff were more worried about their phones than customer service. We had a party of 12 and 1 poor girl was trying to do it all! She went to the back and had to ask for help 3 times. When the other girls finally came out to help the were chewing food and stood by the register on their phones leaving STILL the one girl to cut all of our meat and make all of the sandwiches. This place needs a manager to keep the staff in line!!!!!
I meant to take a picture of our meal, but... we ate it all. Oops!We had the meal for two thing. 3/4lb burnt ends and lean brisket,, with 1/4lb turkey, and a link.. We got the pinto beans, green beans, "cheesy" potatoes, and cole slaw for our 4 sides.Potatoes were good just not really cheesy. I don't care for their green beans. Wife loved the pinto beans. I ate my vole slaw side in like 5 bites. Brisket was so much tastier than the BM by Randolph. Turkey was awesome! So was the sausage link!Yes, we will be back. Especially since it's a short motorcycle ride from our place. P.S.To the staff: Lost my Jaybird Vista earbud case either in their lot or nearby. If you find it, let me know. Thanks!
Meat sides and sauce were great... The staff was very entertaining....
I took a business associate with me today while we were waiting to go to our appointment. I told him the BBQ was great and the peach cobbler was even better. We were not disappointed! Tracy and staff were very friendly and helpful. The peach cobbler with a scoop of vanilla ice cream is to just die for! Love this restaurant!
Great food and atmosphere. Plenty of options to choose from. Would recommend you try it! I will certainly be back!
We had a wonderful time, good food & the music was great! Delicious frozen Margaritas, the place is vintage decor galore which was half the fun! We are definitely returning:)
Disappointed chicken and brisket was dry. FOOD USE TO BE GOOD.
Highly highly recommend. Food is phenomenal...staff is friendly. The atmosphere is amazing. When there is entertainment there its extra special. Its kid friendly and just all around a great time for everyone. Love love love this place.
No signs were posted requiring masks. Most customers were wearing masks. None of the staff were wearing masks. It didn't dawn on me until we started ordering or I would have left. I can't recommend this place during the pandemic.
I ordered brisket and rib plate. The brisket was tender ribs were a little tough. The sides green beans were over stirred, potato salad was good. I chose pecan cobbler heard it was very good however I wasn't convinced it was a little dry. It was over priced for the amount of food served.
What can I say? Where do I begin? Wonderful place great food. Amazing peach cobbler, pecan pie. Worth the drive. Will be coming back everytime I go to San Antonio.
